Governing Board member Jeffrey Holland has resigned from his seat on the Board, effective March 7, 2016, creating a vacancy on the Dry Creek Joint Elementary School District Board of Trustees.


At their Regular Board meeting on February 4, 2016, the Board voted to fill this vacancy by making a provisional appointment. The appointed applicant will serve as a member of the Board of Trustees through November 2016. The seat will go to election* in November 2016 for the remaining two years of the four-year term. The four-year term ends December 2018.


Applications are now being accepted from any qualified person interested in filling this vacancy. Applications are available through the Office of the Superintendent of the Dry Creek Joint Elementary School District, 9707 Cook Riolo Road, Roseville, CA, or online at www.drycreek.k12.ca.us, under the “School Board” link, or by contacting the Office of the Superintendent at 916.770.8850 during normal business hours (7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.). Submit completed applications to the DCJESD office, 9707 Cook Riolo Rd., Roseville, CA 95747 by 4 p.m., Friday, February 19, 2016.


Legal qualifications for holding office are as follows ( Ed Code  35107):

  • Applicant must be 18 years of age or older
  • Applicant must be registered voter, and who is not disqualified by the Constitution or laws of the state from holding a civil office
  • Applicant must be a resident of the Dry Creek Joint Elementary School District

* Anyone wishing to file papers to run in the election must contact the County Elections Office for their specific county (Placer County Elections or Sacramento County Elections Division).
