Dr. Tooker passionately leads a team of over 800 professionals dedicated to providing a world-class education to approximately 7,000 students in Northern California, spanning three diverse and unique communities in West Roseville, Dry Creek, and Antelope. 

Dry Creek serves as a model District across the State and has received numerous prestigious awards at both the State and National levels. Imagination, creativity, and innovation drive Dry Creek's high standards of learning. Dr. Tooker is tireless in his efforts to recruit, hire, and develop exceptionally trained staff who share his vision of providing all students with an outstanding education. Dry Creek's team of professionals not only meet student's academic needs but also support their social-emotional wellness. 

Dr. Tooker is responsible for a $75-million annual budget and manages nearly $150-million in property and capital assets. Under his administration, Dry Creek has demonstrated fiscal prudence and has always had positive budget certifications. Dry Creek expends a higher percentage of its budget on certificated non-management employees who directly impact student learning than any District in the region. In recent years, Dry Creek has refinanced bonds to save taxpayers over $4.5-million. In addition to his responsibilities as Superintendent, Dr. Tooker is past President and a current Board member of Schools Insurance Group, which provides health and welfare benefits, worker's compensation, property, and liability insurance to over 34-school districts in Northern California. 

Dr. Tooker stays active in the community as a member of the Education Advisory Board for the University of Massachusetts Global and William Jessup University. Dr. Tooker is a member of the Rotary Club of Roseville and Roseville's Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Tooker has dedicated many years as a local youth sports coach and served on the boards of multiple non-profit organizations. 

Dr. Tooker has received numerous awards, including:

  • 2019 Superintendent of the Year (Placer County and Region 2)

  • Administrator of the Year (Placer County and Region 2)

  • Human Resources Administrator of the Year (Placer County and Region 2)

  • National Schools to Watch Superintendent 

  • National Schools to Watch Middle School Principal

Dr. Tooker believes in being a life-long learner and has earned several degrees and credentials, including:

  • Doctorate (Ed.D.) in Organizational Leadership, University of Massachusetts Global

  • Master's in Organizational Leadership, University of LaVerne

  • Bachelor's in Social Science/Communications, University of Southern California

  • Administrative Credential, University of LaVerne

  • Teaching Credential, University of California, Davis
